Far Place Army

The Far Place Army in 1617 are allies of the Lunar Empire. The population (over 5) of the Far Place is around 48 500. For home defence, by calling out the fyrd, they can muster about 25% of this population. They also have 2.5% of the population (around 1250)  as full time soldiers and 10% (around 4850) as part-time soldiers.

 Regiments of the Far Place Army

Far Place units are not really regiments in the Lunar sense. They are however included in the Lunar Army List for the Southern Front as allies. As well as native troops Harvar Ironfist controls a number of mercenary units paid for by taxing trade through Far Place and the population of the city of Alda-Chur. He is also in receipt of a subsidy from the Lunar Empire as an ally in a significant region. One hoplite unit recruited from Alda-Chur (the Sky Dome) is strictly militia, but as Harvar pays them from taxes as regulars they have become, in effect, part of the regular army. Some of these units are not as large as Lunar Regiments. For example the Temple Guard is 300 men and the two magician units are less than 100 each.
