bullet

Master Arim (known as Argrath Whitemoon to his disciples) - Leader of the Thieves' Arm. With Durkal the Straight-Edged, Harjit the Esrolian and Willem Lightning.

Here is what Mynaryth Purple said to Arim about those present:

Leader

Mynaryth’s Warning

Kalyr Starbrow

"You’ve heard of Kalyr. She is a good woman, a good leader and very powerful… but she is proud woman, a hard woman. She doesn’t like weaklings and fools. Don’t try to joke with her, don’t boast and don’t show false modestly either. She likes plain talk. She’s not as traditional as most I think. Many think she is the Argrath."

Asborn Thriceborn

"You know him I think – from the Colymar. He is loyal to Queen Beti. I don’t know him well myself."

Orlaront Dragonfriend

"A strange man. A companion of Kalyr. He knows about dragons and dragonewts. I have heard that he speaks the dragon's tongue – I don’t know how but the language was known in youfish times I believe. He is certainly no traditionalist."

Gernu the Mask

"He doesn’t say much but he seems to take advice from his alynx Dernu – either it is an intelligent alynx or it is his familiar – I’m not sure which it is. Their guardian is Brown Eagle which I think was once the Storm Eagle. Eagles are servants of Yelm and birds of ill-omen. The Storm Eagle once guarded Yelm’s palace. It turned to Orlanth in the god time and once helped King Sartar against the Impossible Voles and I think Sartar healed it as a reward."

Elmalandti Wildstorm

"A godi holy man. He is very traditional and I don’t think he will welcome you."

Gyrffur Ulfsson

"I think Big Erneldesta knew him. A tough man and a fierce fighter I’m told but he knows no compromise or subtly on or off the battlefield. He hates the Lunars who destroyed his bloodline and clan. He is very traditional."

Orngerin Thundercape

"He is from the Aranwyth. He is one of Kalyr’s most trusted companions. He is known for competence and loyalty. I think he will follow Kalyr’s lead in this."

Orsalor the Spearlord

"He is from the Locaem. Strangely he worships The River as well as Finovan so he can’t be too traditional. Some say he is married to a water goddess. Don’t ever call him fat or he may try to kill you –he likes to think of himself as bear-sized."

Janar Maniskisson

"Some people call him Argrath – though not if Kalyr is listening. A clever man and a good tactician. He is quite open to unusual ideas and foreign ways. I have hopes of him. I would try to get on the right side of him if you can. He is always interested in new ways to beat the Lunars."

Ernathora the Second

"A dangerous woman this.. an interesting choice for the Iron Ring but Kalyr likes her. She’s a Vingan you see and tries hard, Kalyr always likes that. She was the last to be accepted and will try to show she is better than you. Her mother is a famous Vingan – Blackfoot Urenstanda who is dying from a poisoned wound from a Lunar assassin. Her sister is a famous Vingan – Sorane Step-Light who is with Broyan. She was the second to climb Kero Fin by the Hungry Stones Scarp and drove away the Vicious Fishes from Red Bird Ford though don’t mention that to her."

Yend Two-Kill

"He’s another one to watch out for. Very dangerous. He’s a traditionalist and I doubt he’ll be pleased to meet you."

Gambar Greatspear

"He’s from the Dundealos but his clan was destroyed after Starbrow’s Rebellion. He is ambitious and hopes to become important in the rebellion I think."

Loricon Venharlson

"He is a great magician and full of Orlanthi magic. He has interesting ideas he is working on for using Orlanthi magic against the Empire. Some, especially the holy men call him Argrath. Though he is full of storm magic I think that he is less traditional than the Stormwalkers."
